Is going out to watch a movie on a big screen projector as bad for eye vision as watching a big screen tv at home for the same period of time? I couldn't fit the question mark on the subject line
In the old days it was important that you not sit too close to the tv set. The resolution was not very sharp and it was difficult for your eyes to focus unless you moved 9 feet away.
That is no longer true. The resolution is so good on the modern sets that you can sit very close and not strain your eyes at all. There are "ideal" distances so that your eyes can "scan" the entire screen at a glance but you won't hurt your eyes.
Since neither the projector or home tv is going to hurt your eyes, the answer to your question is yes..
